Keegan Benton
I started archery in the NASP program. During that time I earned many podium positions and medalist honors during tournaments. I was fortunate to qualify for state every year and earn invitations to nationals. My high school had no team. Hence, I took it upon myself to recruit faculty, coaches and archers to found a team. In February of 2023 I expanded my shooting into recurve barebow. Since then I have garnered many state championships, finished second at S3DA Vegas Nationals, won the 2024 Gator Cup, captured five consecutive states titles in indoor, 3D and outdoor target. I have been fortunate to finish second nationally in both 3D and outdoor target this year. My immediate goals are to expand my competitions and become a more well-rounded shooter capable of being competitive in any style and format. I took my first trip to Field Trials this year and was not terribly pleased with a fifth place finish but upon reflection I am pleased that I broke new ground and learned a great deal from the experience. In the future I am interested in tackling ASA Pro/Ams and continue to grow. Beyond that I made my first trips to the Lancaster Classic and Vegas to shoot and gained experience and skills to propel me to compete and be an asset upon high school graduation for the Lindsey Wilson College Blue Raiders.
